Othello is an interactive work designed for a Princeton Arts Council show to celebrate the ground-breaking actor, singer, and political activist Paul Robeson, who was born in Princeton. It weaves a playable version of the strategy game Othello (Reversi) together with songs and scenes reflecting the life of Robeson, who starred in Shakespeare's Othello in London and on Broadway. The media presented depends on the progress of the game and who wins—black or white.

About

I'm a designer and developer who can't stop making multimedia tributes for the people I love. Otherwise I help create engaging digital media for various companies, most recently for those in healthcare and pharmaceuticals. I live in Princeton, NJ and have taught interactive media courses at Pratt Institute. Due to a past life in civil engineering, certain mile markers on the NJ Turnpike make me nostalgic.

It can be difficult to understand hardcore punk covers of 1970's songs. Sometimes a vocabulary lesson is in order.
